Turnout at the 2015 General Election was 66.2%, higher than the previous two General Elections but still the third lowest since the introduction of universal suffrage.


   
Across EU 28 countries, average turnout at the last parliamentary election 65.5%. The lowest turnout of the G7 is the US at 42.5%.


UK turnout at the 2014 European Parliament election was 35.3%. This was up on the 34.5% in 2009 but below the 39.4% in 2004.
