There is an ongoing discussion regarding levels of public expenditure on transport across the United Kingdom, and particularly whether or not the North of England receives a "fair share" of transport expenditure. This paper presents the available data on transport expenditure, confirming that London and the South East recieve a larger amount of spending that other regions, and briefly considering some of the reasons why this may be the case.
