On 12 December 2017, there will be a general debate on Funding for domestic violence refuges. Selected by the Backbench Business Committee, this debate is sponsored by Jess Phillips MP and will take place in Westminster Hall.

Currently, domestic violence refuges receive funding via grants (both from local government and Police and Crime Commissioners) and from housing benefit.

In October, the Government announced its proposals to change the funding system and is now consulting on these proposals. This debate pack outlines some of these changes and related comments from the sector.
