On Tuesday 24 July 2018, there will be a Westminster Hall debate on Family Hubs. This is a one hour debate, starting at 4:30pm, sponsored by Fiona Bruce MP.
Local authorities have a statutory duty to run children's centres, aimed at vulnerable children. There have been calls to expand the remit of these centres to provide more holistic support to children and families: the so-called 'Family Hub' model.
Family Hubs are discussed in the Library paper published for the debate on Strengthening families. This was a wider debate about A Manifesto for Strengthening Families, supported by several MPs, including Fiona Bruce MP. Section 1.5 of the paper considers Family Hubs, recommended by this manifesto. There are also some relevant news articles and further reading towards the back of the paper.
